BioWare has had a difficult few years. Following the critical and commercial success of Dragon Age: Inquisition, the studio moved on to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, two games that, under increasing publisher pressure, abandoned the tenets of previous BioWare titles. It’s been over six years since Inquisition, and while we know Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is in the works, we won’t see it for a while. Here’s everything we know about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, from the release date to the teaser trailer to any news or rumors we could find.
Is There A Release Date For Dragon Age: Dreadwolf?
We knew Dragon Age: Dreadwolf was in the works thanks to the 2018 Game Awards teaser and some concept art, but we didn’t know when we could expect it. During a 2020 EA earnings call, Blake Jorgensen stated the following:
“You should assume that there is Dragon Age out there, and we’ve talked about it publicly that it’s in the works, and it probably comes after fiscal ’22 … you should assume that it’s out there and plans are underway for that product, as well as some other products.”
Aside from that, it wasn’t until June 2022 that BioWare officially revealed the game’s title as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and confirmed that it wouldn’t be released in 2022. The game has completed its Alpha milestone, which means it is playable from start to finish, according to the most recent blog post. However, this does not imply that the game is as close to completion as you may believe. This simply means that the team will be able to concentrate more on visual fidelity, gameplay features, story pacing, and character progression.
Dragon Age Dreadwolf Platforms
EA hasn’t revealed much about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf aside from some art shown at EA Play 2020, which we’ll get to later. However, we got another look at Gamescom 2020. Despite its length of four minutes, the behind-the-scenes look doesn’t reveal much about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The beginning of the video also mentions next-generation hardware, implying that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Because it is so late in the generation, it is safe to assume that it will not be available on last-generation systems. Aside from that, the video shows a few moments of gameplay and one returning character: Solas. This isn’t necessarily breaking news — BioWare has been open about Solas’ importance in the upcoming game — but it’s nice to have confirmation. Trailers For Dragon Age Dreadwolf
During The Game Awards 2020, BioWare debuted the first official teaser trailer for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The trailer depicts Solas and some of the characters you may be able to play, against the backdrop of a colorful fantasy world.
A trailer was shown at The Game Awards in 2018, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at Gamescom 2020. The trailer, like most teasers, is brief, with only a single line of dialogue saying, “So, you finally found me.” “I believe you have questions.” This line is accompanied by a tag that reads, “The Dread Wolf Rises.” The teaser can be seen below.
The plot of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
Of course, we don’t know what the plot of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is, but Solas is clearly central to it. In celebration of Dragon Age: Inquisition’s fifth anniversary, BioWare tweeted a handwritten letter from Solas inviting the Inquisitor to tea.

Preorders For Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
Preorders for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has not yet begun. In fact, no release date has been set. If previous releases are any indication, BioWare will release Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in multiple editions with varying preorder bonuses. The most expensive version of Dragon Age: Inquisition was the $170 “Inquisitor’s Edition,” which included a tarot card deck, a special case, a cloth map, a full-scale lock-picking set, a quill, and ink, a badge, some coins, and a 40-page journal.
As the release date for Dragon Age Dreadwolf is not confirmed the gamer community is also curious to know if Mortal Kombat 12 Coming.
Although it has been several years since Inquisition, and the video game industry has changed dramatically, we still expect EA to release a large, bold collector’s edition of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, complete with preorder bonuses.
Conclusion: After Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem disappointed BioWare. Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, which will be released after the fiscal year 2022, has fans excited.
