Blood Bowl 3 2023 Development
Blood Bowl (first released in 2009) and Blood Bowl 2 were both developed by Cyanide (released in 2014). After settling out of court with Games Workshop about claims that Blood Bowl and Cyanide’s 2004 game Chaos League were too similar to each other, they were granted permission to make the games in question.
After a gap of 22 years, Games Workshop resumed support and production of miniatures for the Blood Bowl board game in 2016. Blood Bowl Second Season Edition, which included new rosters and regulations, was published on November 27, 2020. As a result, Blood Bowl 2 was rendered obsolete due to its adherence to out-of-date rules, necessitating the development of a new Blood Bowl game.
