Werewolf By Night Release Date: When Will the Marvel Special Come Out?

Jack Russell, the comics’ original Werewolf By Night, will be played by Gael Garcia Bernal. Russell, like his lycanthropic predecessors, hails from Transylvania and transforms into a werewolf every time the moon is full.

The monster-slaying heroine Elsa Bloodstone will supposedly be played by Laura Donnelly. The synopsis’s reference to Bloodstone Temple verifies the family’s link to the Bloodstones, whose ancestors possessed the Bloodgem and were thus immune to vampire bites and granted eternal life.

Man-Thing, a half-human, half-plant swamp creature who made his debut in 1971’s Savage Tales #1, also makes his debut in the trailer for Werewolf By Night. A scientist by the name of Ted Sallis, ran into some trouble while experimenting with the Super Soldier Serum and ended up in a swamp.

Jaycob Maya, Eugenie Bondurant, and Kirk Thatcher will all feature on Werewolf by Night, however their specific roles have not been revealed at this time.

Also seen in the trailer are members of the Time Variance Authority, raising the issue of why on Earth they would be in this part of the multiverse in the first place. This could be because of a connection to Loki or the Darkhold possessing a person, causing them to manifest as a variation.

The comic book inspiration for “Werewolf by Night” may be traced back to 1972’s “Marvel Spotlight” #2 issue. While both Jack Russell and Jake Gomez have held the moniker “Werewolf by Night,” the spotlight has been cast squarely on Russell for the Marvel movie.
