Warrior Nun season 3: When Netflix announced that Warrior Nun would return for a second season on November 10, 2022, we prayed desperately that it would be true. But where does this leave the teen fantasy franchise in the long run? In her third appearance, will Warrior Nun succeed once more?
While a third season has not been officially announced as of this writing, series creator Simon Barry told Inverse in July 2020 that there are plans to continue the show for far longer than three seasons.
“Since we are still in the very early stages of developing Warrior Nun, I would be willing to give it some time. Between five and seven seasons would be perfect.”
Warrior Nun Season 3 Potential Release Date: When Will It Air?
Warrior Nun has been out in the world for over two years, but production delays caused by the pandemic are largely to blame. The sooner we can expect new episodes, ideally in the early part of 2024, the better the chances of the show being renewed for a third season.
If your faith is especially strong, a new season could arrive by the year’s end 2023.

Warrior Nun Season 3 Cast: Who’s In It?
Without Alba Baptista as Ava Silva, Warrior Nun would be…nun-thing, so she’ll probably be returning for season three. Who, though, will accompany her? For those who are anticipating the return of certain characters, here is a short list of those who may be back:
• Thekla Reuten as Jillian Salvius
• Lorena Andrea as Sister Lilith
• Kristina Tonteri-Young as Sister Beatrice
• Tristan Ulloa as Father Vincent
• Sylvia De Fanti as Mother Superior
We can count on Toya Turner being the only cast member who doesn’t come back. Shotgun Mary, whose forces were defeated by Adriel’s at the end of season one, is suddenly revealed to be “gone” at the beginning of season two.
When asked about Turner’s departure in an interview with Screen Rant, showrunner Simon Barry revealed that Shotgun Mary was set to return, but her departure threw the plot into disarray.

“Due to personal obligations, Toya had to leave the programme at the start of production on Season 2. As a result, we had to rapidly adjust the show’s format to reflect the change. […] This puzzle tested your mettle to the fullest. Nonetheless, we came up with a solution that, in my opinion, does justice to Shotgun Mary’s character while also setting the stage for the introduction of new characters in season 2.”
In his own words, “I hope it plays out well,” Barry says. “Awkwardness ensues whenever reality diverges from anticipation, right? This was not something we had anticipated, so we had to make some adjustments as we went along.”
Warrior Nun Season 3 Plot: What Will Happen Next?
Season two of Warrior Nun continues the show’s cheeky (uh!) tradition of ending on a cliffhanger.
Adriel’s rule over Earth (boo!) may have really saved humanity from a much worse danger emanating from his domain. (Whoops!)
This spells trouble for everyone’s favourite Warrior Nun, Ava, who has plenty on her plate in the event of a third season, what with the Halo’s mysterious goings-on and Lilith’s sudden metamorphosis.
Still, we believe in Ava. Aside from the fact that she has never led us astray in the past, we also have faith in the show’s creator, Simon Barry, because of his ambitious five-to-seven-season plan.
