What We Know About Unexpected Season 5 Release Date Status, Cast, and What’s Going on With Mckayla

Fans of TLC’s “Unexpected” had waited patiently for a fifth season to be announced after four excellent seasons. TLC’s Season 5 news was eventually made public, but perhaps not in the way the network had hoped for. Facebook fan account “Everything TLC Unexpected” leaked the Season 5 cast list, according to Starcasm.

Facebook has a long history of releasing accurate information about the show before anyone else, and this time was no exception. Fortunately for fans. According to the post, Lilly Bennett, Jenna Ronan, Tyra Boisseau, and Tiarra Boisseau will all be returning as the show’s mothers this season. Among the newcomers are Tyra and Tiarra’s cousin Taylor Williams, who will join the cast. Sources say that Williams will be discussing her pregnancy in the upcoming season and that she will talk about it.

Reanna and Taron, however, are the only parents we won’t be seeing. For reasons that have not been made clear yet, the couple has been removed from the show, according to Distractify, midway through Season 4. As a result of the mid-season break in “Unexpected” season four, viewers were left without any new episodes. After Reanna and Taron’s dismissal, many assumed the break had something to do with it.

Jared, Reanna’s sister, spoke out about the absence of her family from the show, saying, “We have decided not to return for purely private reasons. It’s time to lay out the facts before anyone else comes up with their theories!”

Unexpected’s new season debuts soon

Seeing what our favorite moms get up to next excites us. Since its debut on TLC in 2017, “Unexpected” has quickly become a fan favorite. The fact that this is TLC’s first long-running show about teen pregnancy may have contributed to its success. According to Time, MTV has produced several shows focusing on this type of content, including “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom,” while TLC has yet to produce a show focusing on this type of content.

“Unexpected” returns to TLC on March 6, according to TV Shows Ace, and the new cast is already causing a stir. New cast member Kylen Smith will have an explosive moment in the delivery room with her partner, who asks her not to get an epidural and is then escorted out of the hospital by law enforcement. There’s no doubt that this season will be filled with suspense and intrigue.

What Is Mckayla Adkins Up to?

Rumors about one cast member’s return have been just as prevalent as the eagerness of fans to know when Season 5 will premiere. “Unexpected” fans love McKayla Adkins, who has appeared on the show since Season 1. She’s been very open about sharing her life on social media, including Instagram, TikTok, and her YouTube channel, which has nearly 300,000 subscribers.

In the words of Adkins and other sources, she’s expecting her third child. It’s not clear if she’ll be back for the fifth season, especially since she didn’t appear in the cast leak on Facebook. Even if she never comes back, she appears to be content. In addition to the birth of her third child, Starcasm claims she got married. Except for the last name, the teen mom hasn’t revealed much about her new beau since becoming “officially Mrs. Tenney” in May 2021.

Even though we don’t know who the mystery man is yet, we can be sure it’s not who she was dating for all three seasons of “Unexpected.”‘”

The Show Partners With a Non-profit

The audience of shows like “Unexpected” and “Teen Mom” is known to be extremely critical of them. This type of reality show is popular with many, but some believe it glorifies and promotes teen pregnancy and the difficulties that come with it.

Having a baby at such a young age is considered a bad decision by many people, and teen moms are no exception. It’s not all rainbows and butterflies for teen parents, as shown on the television show. These teen moms have been through it all, from financial stress to relationship difficulties to the challenge of raising a child on their own.

Every season, TLC worked with the non-profit organization Power to Decide to help young people learn about their options and make an educated decision about whether or not they want children.

A major objective is to provide women with information and resources to “spark meaningful conversations about unplanned pregnancy” (via Power To Decide) based on the show “Unexpected.” With the help of information about pregnancy and the issues that some of the show’s characters face, Power to Decide encourages young people to consider “how they might handle similar situations in their own lives.”

While some families on certain TLC series collect major coins, like the Busbys on “OutDaughtered,” that is unfortunately not the case for all shows. Although salaries are not publicly available, The Cheat Sheet’s run-through of what previous TLC stars have made shows that it can range from $1,000 per episode to tens of thousands of dollars.

The Starcasm website claims that the “first-year moms are paid well under $1,000 per episode” and receive a small bonus each time they return for a new season. As the series is still relatively new, it’s impossible to give an exact figure, but its stars can expect to see a rise in their salaries over time.

TLC reality show producers were slammed by Starcasm in September 2021 after Adkins complained about being forced to answer inappropriate questions while still a minor on a series of Instagram Stories. McKayla said in the video, “They pushed my f***ing boundaries to the limit.” “They threatened to sue me or take my money if they didn’t get their way,” he said (via Starcasm).

Adkins complained that the crew pressured her to appear nude and breastfeed in front of her family while filming the birth of her child, as well as to discuss private and intimate details of her sexual life. Responses from other cast members to Adkins’ video claim that they too feel uncomfortable around the show’s producers. “We were sexified….. Our children were likely sexually assaulted. I’m not sure how this show is still running, to be honest “She went on.

Reanna Cline and Taron Ward Were Kicked Off Halfway Through Season 4

During Season 4, Reanna Cline, Taron Ward, and their infant daughter, Danica, became part of the “Unexpected” cast. In the middle of the season, the show abruptly halted filming for over a month, which left its viewers perplexed. You may be wondering why the show was canceled. Even though TLC never officially stated why Cline and her boyfriend were removed from the series, devoted fans of the show realized this was the case, according to Distractify.

As soon as the trailer was released, Jared Cline’s mother confirmed that the couple would not be returning to the show “for personal reasons” in a Twitter post. “Lol honestly not surprised if you don’t suck their d***s they hate you,” McKayla Adkins wrote in response to an Instagram post about the teens’ removal from the show.

As viewers of the show, “Unexpected” know, Chloe Mendoza and Max Schenzel’s relationship has had its share of ups and downs. New viewers of the show are in for a wild ride with these two, who have broken up and reunited multiple times, as well as been sentenced to jail time for various crimes. When Distractify reported on February 2021, things appeared to be going well for the two teens. When Mendoza commented on the article, Schenzel retweeted it and confirmed their relationship. Schenzel’s 2021 Instagram posts show that he has a new girlfriend named Morgan, despite rumors that they had rekindled their romance. Things didn’t work out, as evidenced by the fact that the majority of the photos of him with Mendoza have already been removed from his profile. Even though it’s heartbreaking, it may be for the best!

A YouTube video titled “Dear Chloe’s new Boyfriend…” was posted by Schenzel in June 2021, in which he explains his thoughts on Mendoza’s new relationship with Ian and whether or not he would step in as a father. According to him, one of the most troubling aspects of dating Mendoza’s new boyfriend is the fact that he has “no communication” with either his daughter or anyone else in her family.

Max Schenzel struggled with drug addiction

The Season 3 trailer of “Unexpected” revealed that Max Schenzel was addicted to painkillers and addressed his substance abuse problem on the show. He was sentenced to “intensive outpatient treatment” after he tested positive for Fentanyl on three separate occasions, resulting in his probation being violated, according to Distractify. Schenzel was not only battling drug addiction, but he was also having legal issues at the time. After robbing his 77-year-old grandmother, he was arrested in June 2018 for burglary and credit card theft. However, according to Starcasm, Schenzel’s jail sentence has been repeatedly postponed for him to deal with his drug addiction.

However, it has been reported that there are rumors that the teenager did not complete all of his work in Alcoholics Anonymous and dropped out of the program early. After pleading guilty to the felony, the young father was sentenced to six months in prison, which he served until January 2021. (via Starcasm).

Before Rebecca could pay the $500 bail, he was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor battery of domestic violence. He was released the following day (via Starcasm). Further, in April of 2021, Starcasm reported that Vanelli had been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and was being held in jail on a $5,000 bail.

Lexus Scheller, along with her mother Kelsey, decided it was time for Lexus to see a doctor and be put on birth control to prevent teen pregnancy. On the other hand, she was shocked to discover upon arrival at her appointment that she was already 12 days overdue for her period and also expecting her first child. In an “Unexpected” Video Diary interview on YouTube, Scheller’s mother reflected on the moment she learned she was going to be a teen mom and revealed how taken aback she was by the news. “I didn’t believe it, and I didn’t think it was real. I was stunned, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt shocked like that before in my life “she explained.

They continued to talk about the occasion, even though Scheller’s mother didn’t know her daughter was dating anyone. It’s been a while since she’s seen a man. The fact that you were having sex with someone you didn’t even know was completely out of the question to me.
