The Witcher Season 3

For fans of the fantasy series ‘The Witcher,’ a new season is currently under production. Fans who binge-watched the show’s second season before it was published won’t have to wait long to hear if the series will be continuing after all.

If you haven’t already, stay reading to learn more about the upcoming third season of the popular fantasy series. The third season of The Witcher has officially begun production! Official Netflix confirmation came on April 4 when a picture of Henry Cavill and other cast members (likely including Freya Allan) on production in an extremely snowy winter scene was shared to the account.

We also know who will be returning to the cast and who will not, as well as some quotes from the show’s creator, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, and our best guess as to when a teaser will be released. A list of plot points that may or may not be revealed in the source material has also been collected.

 Release Date

Filming and post-production on previous seasons of The Witcher took approximately 7 months. On April 4, according to current rumors, the third season of The Witcher began filming based on the projected production time. The third season of The Witcher is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2023, according to our estimates.

Many Witcher fans awaited the release of a third Witcher chapter in late 2022 following the December 2019 Netflix release of The Witcher and the December 2021 release of The Witcher Season 2. There has been no official word on whether or not the upcoming 2022 release of The Witcher prequel The Witcher: Blood Origin means we may expect Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer to make a comeback in 2023 for The Witcher Season 3.

 Plot

The film is based on a successful series of novels of the same name. Both the works of literature were written by Andrzej Sapkowski. In contrast, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is the one who made it into a Netflix series.

In Season 1, Geralt of Rivia, Princess Ciri, and Yennefer was the show’s most prominent characters. Season 2 made use of new material from the films The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny. We may expect additional characters and stories in the third season because there are five novels in the series.

Some of the second book’s plot points are revisited in season two. It makes sense to continue the story from the first novel to the second series. Before meeting Geralt and becoming his mentor and friend, Ciri is a sorceress dedicated to completing her education.

Trailer

However, not for the time being. More than five months before the game’s scheduled to release in December, the first glimpses of the upcoming season of The Witcher were unveiled in July. It will be required to learn more when Season 3 is released. Keep a watch out for a trailer to be released 4-6 months before the film’s premiere—either at Comic-Con or on Netflix, depending on the situation.

Cast

We wouldn’t be able to enjoy The Witcher without our major protagonists, and we already know that Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), and Ciri (Freya Allan) will return in the next season.

Now that Triss Merigold (Anna Shaffer) is aware of Ciri’s skills, we may expect to see her and her other mages return in the upcoming season.

In addition, we expect the Witchers Vesemir (Kim Bodnia), Lambert (Paul Bullion), and Coen brothers to make a comeback (Yasen Atour). They all made it out of Kaer Morhen alive in the series one finale. Season 3 of Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things” is set to release in 2022 or 2023 and will feature four new actors.
