The Strain Season 5 Release Date: When will it premiere?

Season 4 of “The Strain” debuted on July 16, 2017. That this episode will serve as the series finale had already been revealed by FX. The reality remains that despite whatever the cause—falling ratings, a creative decision by the showrunners, or creative differences—”The Strain” had the opportunity to wrap up all loose ends and end on a fantastic note.

The Strain Cast: Who is in it?

Cast leader Corey Stoll plays Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, leader of the Canary team at the New York City Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Stoll has had a number of parts in popular media, including in “House of Cards” and “Ant-Man.” Vasiliy Fet, played by Kevin Durand, is a rat exterminator with Ukrainian ancestry who finds himself embroiled in this conflict.

Several additional characters, both good guys and those with interests to further this strain of vampirism, exist, but the main antagonist, simply named The Master, is the only one worth noting. On the show, he is portrayed by Robin Atkin Downes and is one of the seven ancient vampires.

The Strain Plot: What is it about?

It’s not for the weak of heart, that’s for sure. The show is so terrifying that it literally gives you the goosebumps. Those who haven’t read the books or seen the TV will likely find ‘The Strain’ horrifying and revolting. One need only peruse their advertising strategies to feel uneasy.

As the story opens, a jet descends into John F. Kennedy International Airport and makes a smooth landing with its lights and doors closed. The situation is examined by epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his team. They find 200 dead bodies and only four survivors on board the grounded plane. As more and more bodies vanish from the morgue, the situation quickly escalates out of control. Dr. Goodweather and his group must now work to save not just their own families but also the entire city from imminent destruction.

Queer Eye Season 7 Release Date Status: Cast, Storyline & More Details!

Throughout the season, viewers are left with pressing concerns, such as: what sets the undead survivors apart from the vampires? Were there really only four passengers picked out of the two hundred on board? What terrible end will they encounter at the hands of the villain or the virus?

The finest summary of “The Strain” comes from The Hollywood Reporter: “Is there a mythology to ‘The Strain’?” Certainly, but I don’t see the big deal or the meat in it (so far). Is there a deeper meaning to “The Strain” than what meets the eye? Um, no. It’s a horror show where things like blood, bite marks, and gore are commonplace. It could make you feel like hiding under the couch. If the first hour is entertaining, you may look forward to the next instalment. That seems to be the end goal for FX. And that’s all you ought to count on.”
