Spider-Man Across The Spider-verse: There may be some time before Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 flies into theatres, but that doesn’t mean fans shouldn’t be getting psyched now.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) was the original title for the sequel, indicating that there will be two parts to the follow-up to the Oscar-winning original. Part Two, titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, has its own identity and title now that the original title, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has been changed.

Originally intended for an April 8, 2022 debut, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was pushed back to a Halloween, 2022 debut in theatres. However, Sony has announced that the release date of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been moved back to June 2, 2023.
Incredibly innovative visual approaches are being developed for the upcoming Spider-Verse film, and they are already impressing me. The original film will seem antiquated in comparison.
The official release date of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is set for March 29, 2024.

Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Cast
Although Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will be back in their original roles as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, they won’t be the only ones.
Following his brief cameo in the post-credits scene of the first film, Oscar Isaac has revealed he will reprise his role as Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, in the sequel.
As for Miles’ mom Rio, Luna Lauren Vélez has also said she’ll be back in the role. It was announced in July 2021 that Jake Johnson will reprise his role as Miles’s tutor Peter B. Parker, and in the same month, Brian Tyree Henry was confirmed to reprise his role as Miles’s father, Jefferson Davis.
Whether or not Issa Rae will reprise her role as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman in the sequel is out in the air at the moment. The Spot, a villain whose body is covered in gateways to other dimensions, will be voiced by Jason Schwartzman.
A reportedly stolen item has also sparked speculation that Spider-Punk, alias Ben Reily, may make an appearance, though this has not been confirmed. Despite prior rumours, Kathryn Hahn has not been officially included to any cast lists or announcements as returning in a larger role as Doc Ock.
The sequel’s script was written by the original film’s producers, Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, and David Callaham of Shang-Chi, and it was directed by Kemp Powers, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Justin K. Thompson of Soul.
Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Plot
The friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man of Brooklyn, Miles Morales, is back for an adventure that will take him across the Multiverse to team up with Gwen Stacy and a new group of Spider-People to take on a foe more powerful than anything they’ve faced before.
However, we do know that the story will not be presented in its entirety in the sequel, as it has been confirmed to be a two-part event. “Miles’ story is an epic,” Lord and Miller told EW in December 2021, explaining their decision to make two films instead of one.
“We penned the script based on our assumptions about how the tale should go, and then we were shocked to find that it actually needed to be split into two films. We’re currently making progress on each of them.”

Gwen has found a way to rejoin with Miles in his realm, as depicted in the teaser, which leaves the door open for more crossovers between familiar and unfamiliar faces in the sequel.
Silk (aka Cindy Moon, Peter’s ex-classmate who was also bitten by the radioactive spider) and Spider-Punk have both been mentioned as characters that producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller would like to see in future films.
We may infer which additional characters will be featured in the sequel based on the teaser video that revealed the initial release date, which showed the flashing logos of all the Spider-Man iterations.
Fans with sharp eyes quickly recognised an unusual Spider-Man: Takuya Yamashiro.
Sounds like crickets in your head? Have no fear. Supaidaman, alias Takuya Yamashiro, is an incredible unsung Spider-Man. Since Toei had a licencing agreement with Marvel, the Japanese studio was free to do whatever it wanted with the characters.
