Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 Plot
After Kanan’s failed assassination attempt on Detective Malcolm Howard in season one, the Thomas family will have to deal with the aftermath, especially since the episode concluded with Howard waking up having survived the shooting.
Howard’s decision will have a major impact on the futures of several individuals, including his son Kanan if he chooses to cooperate with Raq’s plot to frame Unique for the crime.

Unique has been detained for the shooting after the bloody jacket was put at his flat, so he will undoubtedly want retribution after being set up–which does not bode well for Marvin, who has also been arrested for drug charges.
After nearly strangling Jukebox, Marvin appears to be making atonement in season two by working with an anger management therapist. Meanwhile, we’ll get a deeper look at Jukebox’s other family when her mother Kenya appears.
For the time being, Kanan appears to be secure in Maryland, but this is not likely to persist. Our best guess is that Kanan will be back in South Jamaica Queens soon enough to cause more problems for Raq unless he attempts to carry on his criminal activities in Maryland instead of returning home.
When Raq was revealed to be the genuine villain in season one, the relationship between Raq and Kanan became even more strained, and we expect it to go even worse in season two. At some point, Kanan will discover that Howard is his biological father and realize how often his mother cheated on him.
Even Lou-Lou, who is desperate to leave the family business and follow his music goals, seems to have been a part of Raq’s extensive resume. There is still no word on whether or not Lou-Lou will be able to get out of the game with the addition of Zisa to his record label in the second season.
A cryptic Mekai Curtis, who plays Kanan, did indicate that Season 2 will be “crazy,” as one might expect.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Curtis explained that “it’s just a continuation of deeds and repercussions.” This time, you’ll see how Kanan’s mental and emotional state is affected by the events that are about to unfold.
They have to figure out where they can and can’t step in a whole new environment, and that’s the responsibility of the family.” There are a lot of moving parts. “It’s crazy,” he says.
