Psycho Pass Season 4: Release Date Status and Everything Need To Know

Season 4 of Psycho-Pass will soon begin airing new episodes. In the new season, the mysteries set up in Season 3 are likely to be unraveled. The demand for the fourth season of First Inspector has skyrocketed since the film’s release, and it’s only getting worse by the day. When is the next season coming out? What is the show’s future? All of your burning questions have been addressed in this section.

Psycho-Pass, written and directed by Gen Urobuchi, is one of the greatest works of psychological suspense anime ever produced. Since its debut in 2012, the series has captivated our hearts. Production I.G. wasted no time in releasing the second season of the show following the huge success of the first. But after Season 2, the studio took an excessive amount of time to release the third season. Well, they certainly kept us entertained with two original films in between the second and third installments.

The third season of Psycho-Pass premiered in October 2019 and lasted only eight episodes until December of that year. There were only six episodes in Season 3, compared to 22 in Season 1 and 11 in Season 2. Season 3’s episodes, on the other hand, were twice as long as those in the first two seasons. However, it left us with a slew of unanswered questions. Following the release of Psycho-Pass 3: First Inspector in 2020, Production I.G. released a sequel to the third installment.

Psycho-Pass Season 4: Renewal Updates

Psycho-Pass is unquestionably one of the best anime series ever made. It’s got a compelling plot and stunning animation to go along with it. As a result, fans were blessed with the opportunity to enjoy multiple seasons (since the anime industry is infamous for not producing sequels). Fans of the crime-cyberpunk show have become addicted to it in the last few years.

As of 2012, Production I.G. has given us one Psycho-Pass project every other year. That’s why a fourth season of The First Inspector was requested so quickly after its release in 2012. In addition, there are still many unresolved issues from the previous season. However, as of November 2020, the studio has not renewed Season 4 of Psycho-Pass. That doesn’t mean the show will be canceled, either.
It’s also too soon to expect the fourth season, given how recently the third film was released. Due to the show’s popularity, renewal could be on its way in the next few months. This section will be updated as soon as new information becomes available.

Season 4 Plot Details

The third season’s plot was a complete mess. We were left with a lot of unfinished business and a mind-bending cliffhanger. Many of Season 3’s mysteries were solved in the First Inspector movie (or the three-episode Amazon Prime short season). The film’s conclusion felt more like the end of the entire show. Yayoi, Akane, and Shion have all been released from prison after surviving the Season 3 finale. This time around, none of our favorite characters were killed off.

However, Psycho-Pass Season 4 will be able to fill in the gaps left by the film. To date, the deaths of Arata’s father, Atsushi Shindo, and Kei’s brother, Akira Ignatov, remain shrouded in secrecy for reasons that are as yet unclear.

There should be some explanation for Akane’s disappearance in the upcoming season as well. Her relationship with the Congressman should be discussed as well. It’s important to know why Shizuka wanted Akane to leave, or whether Arata recommended him to her. We expect that the new season will address all of these topics, and we hope that viewers will receive the answers they seek.

Is There Enough Source Material for the New Season?

Psycho-Pass, in contrast to most anime, tells a story entirely of its creation, drawing on no outside sources. Gen Urobuchi and Makoto Fukami wrote the first season. The second and third episodes, on the other hand, were written by famed anime screenwriter Tow Ubukata. Psycho-Pass, on the other hand, is likely to be a new story written by Ubukata.

Because this isn’t an adaptation, its success depends solely on its performance (sequels of many adaptations depend upon the sales of their source material).

As a result, the show’s third season and Psycho-Pass 3: First Inspector must perform well to get a fourth season. Fortunately, Season 3 of 2019 was a worldwide smash hit. The Covid-19 pandemic caused problems for the First Inspector movie. However, after its debut on Amazon Prime, it became a trending topic. As a result, it appears that Season 4 of Psycho-Pass is a strong possibility.

Psycho-Pass Season 4: Release Date

Production I.G. and all other studios involved in the anime’s production have yet to commit to a fourth season at this time. However, the renewal is expected to arrive within a few weeks. ‘ This could lead to an earlier start for the studio’s next production. There’s a good chance Season 4 of Psycho-Pass will be out by 2022. The official release date will be announced soon, so be sure to check back.
