When Did the Second Season of Our Flag Means Death’s Filming End?

In December 2022, Our Flag Means Death season 2’s filming came to an end. Production for Season 2 lasted for around two months.

In an interview with Collider, Taika Waititi disclosed that in October 2022, production of the second season of Our Flag Means Death switched from Los Angeles, California, to New Zealand. The actor and producer stated:

“We start filming hopefully I think by October, and we’re gonna shoot in New Zealand. We shot the last one in LA. Weird place to try and do something all on the ocean, so we’re gonna go down to New Zealand which is surrounded by it. That’s one of the things I’m most excited about for the next year.”

Our Flag Means Death Season 2 Release Date

Our Flag Means Death is a comedy series largely inspired by the real-life exploits of Captain Stede Bonnet, sometimes known as the Gentleman Pirate because, prior to leaving his family behind to try piracy, he was a fairly prosperous member of Barbados’ landed nobility.

Captain Bonnet and his crew struggle to survive at sea due to their lack of swashbuckling prowess, at least until they come across the infamous pirate Blackbeard, who develops feelings for Stede.

Where Can I Watch Our Flag Means Death Season 2?

Our Flag Means Death’s second season will stream on Max, just like season 1 did in the US, but there’s always a chance that it may be aired more broadly on HBO since the cable network is one of the show’s creators.
