When Will Masamune Kun No Revenge Season 2 Release Date
A little over five years have elapsed since the first season finale of “Masamune Kun no Revenge” aired in March of 2017. Silver Link has been relatively quiet regarding Season 2 even though the first season ended on a cliffhanger and many viewers assumed that the show would return.
In April of 2021, the official Japanese Twitter account for “Masamune Kun No Revenge” confirmed that filming for Season 2 has begun. While the first announcement of Season 2 was exciting for fans, there was no release date given. Further, given the notoriously lengthy production period of animated media, it’s unlikely that Season 2 of “Masamune Kun no Revenge” will broadcast until 2023.
Who Are the Characters in Masamune Kun No Revenge Season 2?
“Masamune Kun No Revenge” is a romance, thus naturally the attention is on the two main characters, Masamune and Aki. Although Masamune was overweight as a kid, he had a strong friendship with the stunning Aki Adagaki. When he asked her out, she rejected him coldly and began calling him “Pig Foot.” Masamune, devastated by Aki’s rejection years previously, spends those years getting in shape and looking good so that he can pursue her again. The actors Natsuki Hanae and Ayaka Ohashi provide the voices for the duet (via Myanimelist).
Yoshino Koiwai and Neko Fujinomiya are two additional major characters who join the lead pair. The former is the personal maid for the rich Aki and is driven by her master’s mistreatment to aid Masamune in his devious plot. Inori Minase lends her tones to the role. The other is Masamune’s second childhood friend, who runs into him and Aki and reconnects with Masamune. Suzuko Mimori provides her vocals.
For Western anime fans, the good news is that “Masamune Kun No Revenge” Season 1 has been dubbed into English, so they can meet the cast in their own tongue. The second season will presumably also be available in a dubbed version for fans.
What is the Plot of Masamune Kun No Revenge Season 2?
The first season of “Masamune Kun no Revenge” ended on a cliffhanger, as previously stated; the consequences of Masamune’s decision to violate Aki’s confidence were not addressed. A kiss between the two had been performed in their class’s recent “Snow White” play. After Masamune kissed Aki onstage, Aki oddly punched him. But they make up and have a tender moment together before she departs for her class trip to Paris. Masamune mulls on chasing after her.
In the subsequent manga chapters, the pair and the rest of their class travel to Paris. Awkward conversations during what is ostensibly just a class trip show that Aki’s rejection of Masamune in the past was more than it seemed. This makes Masamune have some lingering doubts about the wisdom of his strategy. Whether or not he actually carries it out remains to be seen, but viewers are likely to be eager to find out when Season 2 of “Masamune Kun No Revenge” premieres.
