Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania
Phase 5 will kick off with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The film will feature the first official introduction of Jonathan Majors as Kang (the big bad of this Multiverse Saga), as well as the debut of a new young hero when Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton) suits up. The film is expected to reveal more mysteries of the crucial Quantum Realm universe.
This is a lot of information, but there is still a lot we don’t know about the new canon that Ant-Man 3 will introduce. Kang’s introduction alone might trigger a cascade of the villain’s alternate personas that could appear elsewhere in the MCU (if not already embedded there). This is a crucial story, as it will introduce MODOK, another prominent Marvel villain.
Release Date: Spring 2023
In this spy-filled Disney+ series, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will be on the case as he investigates a scheme involving various branches of the shape-shifting alien race known as The Skrulls. The show’s title alludes to a controversial Marvel Comics plotline that showed prominent heroes and figures from around the world had actually been deep-cover Skrull operatives for years, plotting a planet-wide takeover against Earth.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) rendition of Secret Invasion has the obvious potential to cause similar disruptions, both on Earth and throughout the cosmos. Secret Invasion has the potential to be a watershed moment for the franchise, especially in light of the impending release of The Marvels later next year. Don Cheadle’s character, War Machine, will also be making his first appearance since Endgame.
Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3
Release Date: May 5, 2023
James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy will conclude with this picture, and Gunn and his cast and crew have made it clear that this is indeed the final instalment in the saga. Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) and the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji) will be introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and their emergence suggests a likely trend for Phase 5: the rise of formidable adversaries our heroes may not be prepared to deal with.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will leave a void in the cosmos and in our hearts regardless of who lives or dies.
Release Date: Summer 2023
Since it was revealed that Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) would play significant roles in Echo, the show has rapidly evolved from a Hawkeye spinoff to something far more pivotal. Now, Echo seems ready to set in motion a chain of events that could usher in the return of Marvel’s Defenders and/or Kingpin’s ascent to new heights of power in the MCU.
Loki Season 2
Release Date: Summer 2023
With Loki, we got our first glimpse into the scale and stakes of this Multiverse Saga. Season 2 will have Loki as the first Marvel Cinematic Universe (anti-)hero to learn about Kang and his universe, while also having to flee from it. Fans are already assuming that Loki’s second season will set him up to be a major player in Phase 6’s Avengers movie, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
Release Date July 28, 2023
With the help of WandaVision’s Monica Rambeau, the Captain Marvel film series will join forces with the Ms. Marvel TV series, creating a new trio of female cosmic-powered superheroes in the MCU. While we don’t know much about the plot, Ms. Marvel did leave us with a hint that Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) had switched places. The Kree and the Skrull have been at odds in recent works like Secret Invasion, thus it’s possible that the cosmic order will be drastically altered as a result of The Marvels’ efforts to end the conflict.
The second appearance of Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who will fill the position of armoured Avengers member and genius engineer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be in Black Panther 2. Since the Iron Man films haven’t been released in a while, the franchise’s loose ends have been piling up. Ironheart is the first step towards gathering things back up.
Release Date: November 3, 2023
After-credits scenes in Moon Knight and Eternals hinted at the Marvel Knights’ supernatural side, but it’s Blade that will finally reveal it. Blade could be a crucial dark horse story whose relevance we don’t yet comprehend, depending on whether or not Marvel cancels Moon Knight Season 2.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos
Release Date: Winter 2023 – 2024
The new name for Agatha books is “Coven of Chaos,” and it brings with it a LOT of connotation. It seems that the witches of the MCU, while Blade will open the door to the supernatural, will however between the mystical and supernatural. It would be FANTASTIC if you could explain all that in more detail.

Daredevil: Born Again
Release Date: Spring 2024
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will have eighteen episodes. Anything from integrating the Defenders from Marvel Netflix into the MCU to seeing Wilson Fisk Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) follow his comic trajectory and become a significant political figure who can make life horrible for superheroes in a different way is possible in Daredevil: Born Again.
Captain America: New World Order
Release Date: May 3, 2024
The timing of Sam Wilson’s (Anthony Mackie) decision to don the shield and the mantle may not be ideal, but he has done it anyway. Comic book fans will remember Red Skull as the mastermind behind the covert effort to establish the New World Order. Since then, there have been other stories in Marvel canon (Leviathan) that share similarities with the plot of Captain America 4. The worlds of politics and espionage, it seems, are home to some very shady (world-threatening) goings-on, as Sam will soon discover.
Release Date: July 26, 2024
Thunderbolts, which began as a show about a group of villains acting as heroes, will close out Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 5. Thunderbolts raises the question, given the events of the rest of Phase 5 leading up to it, of whether or not the villains will emerge victorious and the heroes will be forced into hiding.
