Invincible Season 2 Release Date: When Will It Air?

Invincible season 2: Upon its release on Amazon Prime Video, Invincible quickly became a fan favorite, prompting calls for a second season even before the first had concluded. That right there is commitment.

Fans’ efforts, petitions, and hashtags paid off in April 2021 when the show was renewed for a second season on Amazon Prime Video… and then a third!

Robert Kirkman, the show’s creator, had previously intimated that more episodes appeared likely, albeit it would be reasonably stressful to pull off, long before this unexpected news.

Invincible Season 2 Release Date: When Will It Air?

Even though the show was renewed over a year ago, there has been no word on when it will return to television.

To date (September 2022), we still haven’t heard anything concrete regarding when the second season will arrive, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Amazon is keeping its “Invincible” ace close to its spandex-clad chest. Fortunately, in September of 2022, Khary Payton (Markus Grimshaw/Black Samson) dropped a bombshell about season two’s development (via SuperheroHype).

“Season 2 is now over. Season three has begun, “It was Payton who remarked. “But it’s tough to say for sure at the moment. Anime companies were swamped with work, and it looked like everyone in the room had a rucksack full of unfinished projects. They say, “When you’re ready, we’re ready.””

When Payton said, “I am thrilled they greenlit two and three at the same time, because that means when three comes out, it will seem like just next season, and not like, a lifetime,” he was referring to the fact that both sequels were given the go-ahead at the same time.

With filming for The Walking Dead having concluded at the end of March 2022, Robert Kirkman has had his hands busy.

Kirkman updated fans on his progress with Season 2 production and live-tweeted through the pilot episode in January to give them a glimpse into the creative process.

“Seasons 2 (and 3) require my immediate attention. I have a script that’s due soon. Please wish me well! “Writing was what he did. “I appreciate you taking the time to read this! My heart is full of affection for each of you.”

Seasons 2 and 3 have been in the works for some time, so the wait won’t be too much longer.

In April of 2022, a recording session video of Steven Yeun (Mark Grayson/Invincible) was made public.

Invincible Season 2 Cast: Who’s In It?

There is a genuine possibility that Invincible’s already massive cast will grow even more significant as the show progresses. Most of the following should be back for season two of Invincible after that spectacular season one finale:

Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson / Invincible
• Sandra Oh as Debbie Grayson
• JK Simmons as Nolan Grayson / Omni-Man
• Zachary Quinto as Robot
• Ross Marquand as Rudy Connors, Robot’s new natural body
• Gillian Jacobs as Samantha Eve Wilkins / Atom Eve
• Jason Mantzoukas as Rex Sloan / Rex Splode
• Malese Jow as Kate Cha / Dupli-Kate
• Grey Griffin as Shrinking Rae
• Khary Payton as Black Samson
• Walton Goggins as Cecil Stedman
• Seth Rogen as Allen the Alien
• Mahershala Ali as Titan
• Kevin Michael Richardson as The Mauler Twins
• Andrew Rannells as William Crockwell
• Zazie Beetz as Amber Bennett

Considering Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man actor JK Simmons said in March that the cast was going to begin voice recordings, we wouldn’t be surprised if others had already been back in the booth as well (as reported by DiscussingFilm).

Simmons dropped a hint that they’d be returning to the studio shortly. Now, there will be a significant time lag between us recording the audio for the first time, and the animation being finished, possibly more than a year.

Invincible Season 2 Plot: What Will Happen?

The events of that shocking conclusion have altered Mark’s life irrevocably. They were a family that his father, Omni-Man, destroyed (along with half of Chicago). Though absent for the time being, Nolan will return, leading a massive Viltrumite army intent on annexing Earth to their extraterrestrial dominion.

Mark is initially apprehensive when Cecil begs him to replace his father as Earth’s champion in the series finale, but he eventually agrees. He also hopes to graduate from high school, though with all the impending danger, that could be difficult.

Several of Invincible’s former foes are also expected to come back, adding to the threat posed by the Viltrumite invasion. We see Titan get new allies, pink aliens take over Mars, and that white tiger man is still around in the first season’s final minutes. Cecil takes a risky gamble by working with the crazed scientist to develop new cyborg goons, ostensibly to combat Nolan upon his return.

It’s unclear how long this newfound strength in Mark and Amber’s relationship will survive. Things between William and Rick did not go well in the first season, so I hope that he and his beloved are soon reconciled.

According to kirkman’s interview with the AV Club, the montage was meant to “remind the audience of the many threads we had and reveal to them that anything and everything that happened in season one matters.” “Future success will depend on every last detail. I tried to sneak in a few more of those pops, but people started giving me weird looks.

“It’s clear that Mark no longer has a mentor in Nolan and that all of the issues he faced before are still present. Moving forward, we’ll have to witness a very different Invincible, one who must now rely on his wits.

Invincible Season 2 Trailer: When Can We Watch It?

If Robert Kirkman is still penning issues, I’m afraid we won’t see clips or trailers for quite some time. Not expecting any new season two footage until later in 2022, but it might not hurt to have Damien Darkblood look into Amazon HQ in the meantime. The pile of comics you brought should keep you busy for a while. When we learn of any developments, we’ll let you know!
