There has been a wide range of opinions about this anime since the first episode was aired in the Summer of 2017. Season 1 has a MyAnimeList rating of 6.16 out of 10. The majority of viewers gave the show a score of 6, which translates to a “Fine” rating.

Why Did It Take So Long for Season 2 to Be Announced?
Light novels fared much better than season 1 of ‘In Another World With My Smartphone,’ which received a score well into the 7s but was generally unimpressed within season 1. Thus, rather than being put on hold because of a negative fan reaction, it was put on hold because of an abundance of the source material. At the time, another season of the anime couldn’t be adapted from the light novel.
Final Thoughts
Fans can expect the show to premiere in late 2023 or early 2024, but there is no official release date yet. Season 2 of ‘In Another World With My Smartphone’ will split the anime community in two as Touya Mochizuki’s fun and the adventurous journey continues.
