Eternals 2: In her Marvel film Eternals, director Chloe Zhao shattered a number of genre norms. She recruited a star-studded cast of superhuman actors for a science fiction film that is otherwise very different from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As their name implies, the Eternals are ageless beings who have inhabited Earth for eons. When the Emergence is activated, the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters come to our aid to fight the Deviants as their Celestial overlords. This film leans more toward drama than action, and while it wasn’t universally well-received, it leaves plenty of room for a sequel.
Eternals 2 Release Date Speculation
Since production on Eternals 2 has not begun, there is currently no set premiere date. There is no evidence that this will occur in Phase 6, nor is it included in Phase 5.
Several cast members, including Kumail Nanjiani, Barry Keoghan, and Kit Harington, have shown interest in returning, but they have not been informed of Marvel’s plans. According to The Toronto Sun, producer Nate Moore said that a sequel to Eternals isn’t a “must have” for the company right now.
On a more upbeat note, Kevin Feige has stated that Marvel is “quite excited” to see future adventures with Harry Styles’ and Patton Oswalt’s characters, Eros and Pip. Consequently, we can expect to see some of these heroes again.

Eternals 2 Plot Speculation
The focus of Eternals 2 would still be on cosmic events. This could lead to an increase of both Celestials and Deviants. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 include Adam Warlock, while Thor: Love and Thunder gave us Eternity. If a sequel to Eternals is made, it should follow this vein and possibly include the Living Tribunal.
Character-wise, the fates of Sersi, Pastos, and Kingo are left up in the air after Arishem abducts them at the end of Eternals. Thus, the next episode will see Makkari, Thena, and Druig meeting Eros and Pip aboard their spacecraft.
Since the original Eternals covered so much of Earth’s history, the sequel could pretty much go anywhere. We’ll be on the lookout for any further developments.
Eternals 2 Cast Speculation
Everyone still alive who helped save the world would appear in Eternals 2. Since Marvel actors tend to stick around for a while, we can expect to see not only Styles and Oswalt, but also Keoghan, Chan, Nanjiani, and the rest of the cast return.
Who knows if there are any others. It’s possible that Chris Hemsworth, as Thor, or Chris Pratt and Karen Gillan, as the Guardians of the Galaxy, will make an appearance. The door is completely open.
