Cobra Kai Season 6: Finding a common enemy to unite against was the key that helped Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso put an end to their decades-long rivalry. Thanks to good fortune, defeating Terry Silver and his expanding army of fanatical Cobra Kai dojo members was the only option. Having found a middle ground between their opposing lifestyles, they appear to be learning from one another (crazier things have happened). Macchio (via Collider) is optimistic that the green light for season six will be given soon.
“It’s become like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, except for Karate Kid movies. We don’t have an official season six pick-up yet, but there are other ideas, other spinoff concepts, and more length to the Cobra Kai series. That is the one question I am always asked during interviews. We don’t have that quite yet, but we’re optimistic that we will, thanks to the interest shown by moviegoers like you in The Karate Kid, which was conceived in the fall of 1983. Indeed, who would have guessed!”
Cobra Kai Season 6 Potential Release Date: When Is It Back?
There has been no confirmed renewal of Cobra Kai for season six… But there has been discussion among the producers about carrying on the plot.
Assuring viewers that he has plans for the series’ future, Jon Hurwitz tweeted in July 2022, “All I can say is that we expect more Cobra Kai to come and that the Miyagiverse is far from over.”
Season six, though, appears to be a safe bet based on another tweet from Hurwitz immediately after the show’s premiere: “The script for season 6 has not been written yet. I will get on that after filming Obliterated, but many kickass ideas are already percolating! #CobraKai”
It took Cobra Kai less than a day to shoot up into Netflix’s number one spot on the charts, proving there’s a lot of anticipation and love for the show.

Cobra Kai Season 6 Cast: Who Will Be In It?
Cobra Kai wouldn’t be the same without William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence) and Ralph Macchio.
And the two guys’ lives would be meaningless without Amanda (Courtney Henggeler) and the expectant Carmen.
Karate Kid veterans Yuji Okumoto (Chozen) and Martin Kove have also returned. Also, Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver) isn’t the type to go down without a fight, and since he has nothing left to lose, we might not have seen the last of him, either.
The children, led by Xolo Mariduea (Miguel), Tanner Buchanan (Robby), Tory (Peyton List), Mary Mouser (Sam), Jacob Bertrand (Eli/Hawk), and Gianni DeCenzo (Hawk), round out the cast (Demetri).
Several key members of Cobra Kai, including veteran Dallas Dupree Young (Kenny) and formidable newbie Oona O’Brien, are in the dark now that they have lost their sensei (Devon).
The group of Cobra Kai senseis also has a score to settle. In particular, Sensei Kim Da-eun (played by Alicia Hannah-Kim) is determined to win the Sekai Taikai competition so that she may make good on a promise to her father. She is unlikely pleased that Silver’s actions have resulted in such a significant setback. There’s a good chance she’ll return, and we wouldn’t be surprised.
Cobra Kai Season 6 Plot: What Will It Be About?
Whatever form the program takes when it returns if, at all, it will not be the same Cobra Kai we’ve come to know and love. The tension between the two dojos has subsided, for one thing.
In the season five finale, Silver’s nasty personality is revealed to his students, who abandoned him after he is found cheating at the All-Valley tournament.
However, they have not yet decided what to do. Do they become members of Miyagi-Do/Eagle Fang (or whatever name they settle on)? Otherwise, they stop training in karate altogether.
This will probably hit Kenny the hardest because he went from being a friendly geek to a cruel bully after being mentored by Silver.
Dallas, the actor, told Digital Spy of his disappointment in Silver: “Kenny has been deeply hurt. Honestly, it was a gut-wrenching moment because his father figure [Silver] is his leader, the guy he looked up to, his mentor, betrayed him in a sense,” Dupree Young said.
“It was incredibly depressing for Kenny to witness the footage and the facts for himself. As a result, I believe Kenny is experiencing some mental strain. He doesn’t know where he wants to go at this point. However, I eagerly anticipate his future developments.”

We’re also keeping our collective fingers crossed for our new favorite Chozen, who recently called Kumiko from Okinawa while inebriated to confess his emotions for her (hey, we’ve all been there, bud). He has overcome what seemed to be fatal injuries and now deserves a massive pat on the back and a long break.
The international Sekai Taikai championships and Kreese’s plans for revenge after breaking out of prison are the two major storylines that will likely be left unresolved by the end of the season.
Since Johnny and Daniel lied to Kreese in prison, claiming they could get him a lawyer, Kreese isn’t going to take that lying down very well. But he wants to get even with Silver (which, ironically, he could have done if he had waited a few more days). There is no doubt that he harbors remorse over Tory and the fact that he dragged her into his scheme before abandoning her when he realized he was losing.
The Sekai Taikai, on the other hand, is widely regarded as a top-tier international competition. If they stay together long enough, they can spread their message (and Mr. Miyagi’s wisdom) to the entire world.
