Jessica Helen Lloyd was born on May 20, 1982, in Eardisley, Herefordshire, where she spent her childhood working on her father’s farm. She is the younger of her parents’ two daughters, Allan (a farmer whose ancestors were well-known bonesetters for decades in addition to their farming pursuits) and Sue (a former dancer and nurse). She went to school in Kington, Herefordshire, and decided at the age of 13 that she wanted to be an actor like her father, who was a big name in the Eardisley Little Theatre’s amateur productions.

Scottish actress Laura Main, born on March 8th, 1981, is best known for her role as Sister Bernadette (later Dr. Turner’s wife Shelagh Turner) on the BBC One drama series Call the Midwife.
Aberdeen is the place of her birth. Her father Robert was a fish dealer, and her mother Lorna had taught elementary school before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She is one of two older sisters and the aunt of a niece and two nephews.
