A third and fourth season of the blockbuster Netflix series, as well as a Queen Charlotte spin-off, pleased Bridgerton’s loyal following.

We’ve grown attached to both of these performers since we’ve seen them onscreen since season one.”
She went on to say: “We’ve gotten to know them as individuals… At times, Colin comes close to realizing Penelope has affection for him, but he doesn’t quite make it to the other side yet. Our goal was to make that dynamic part of their season instead of letting it float by. The timing couldn’t have been better.”
For the second season of Bridgerton, Netflix has made significant changes to the books, with Anthony (Jonathan Bailey in the Bridgerton cast) getting engaged to Edwina Sharma before ending up with her older sister, Kate (Edwina Sharma in season 1).
We know for sure that Bailey and Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma) will return for the third season, with the latter leaving Sex Education to focus on the historical drama.
Nonetheless, Ruby Stokes (Enola Holmes, Anatomy of a Scandal) will be replaced by Hannah Dodd (Enola Holmes, Anatomy of a Scandal) as Francesca Bridgerton. Stokes’ departure follows Deadline’s report that he will star in another Netflix series called Lockwood & Co.
Aside from the new actress playing Francesca, the showrunner Chris Van Dusen is no longer on board and has been replaced by Jess Brownell (Inventing Anna, Scandal).
At the Radio Times Covers Party in London this year, Bridgerton actor Andoh spoke glowingly of both Van Dusen and Brownell.
Bridgerton Season 3 Potential Release Date: When’s It Coming?
At this time, there is no word on when season three will be released, but we do know that filming will begin this summer.
In addition, the production of Season 4 has been confirmed! As a result, London’s Regency-era aristocracy is ripe for further scandal. We are now working on a prequel about Queen Charlotte and Violet Bridgerton, Lady Danbury, and their earlier years, which will be a continuation of the storyline.

We have no idea when the show will return, which makes it difficult to compare it to other Netflix originals. Season one premiered on December 25, 2020, while season two premiered on March 25, 2022.
They may theoretically have a full year to film and then a few months for post-production before season three is released in March 2023.
An online casting request for extras and personnel indicates that the show will be filming from June 2022 through late January of that year, which is to this information. Even so, it’s not conclusive because this hasn’t been upheld by the courts.

Season 3 will center on Coughlan and Newton’s romance, which was confirmed along with their return.
“Like Lady Whistledown, I’ve been holding quite a big secret for quite a long time… but I can finally tell you that @bridgertonnetflix Season Three is Colin and Penelope’s Story,” Coughlan stated on Instagram.
The part of Francesca Bridgerton, previously played by Ruby Stokes, will be filled by Hannah Dodd (Enola Holmes, Anatomy of a Scandal).

Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton will likely take the stage in season 4 rather than the upcoming third season if the following season adapts Julia Quinn’s third book.
Sophie Beckett, the title character’s love interest in the novel An Offer from a Gentleman, is still a possibility for the role. Since the two initially meet at a ball, they only reunite two years later.

Who Will Bridgerton Season 3 Be About?
After months of anticipation, we finally know who will be the star of the third season.
Season 3 would revolve around Benedict, as long as the show followed the chronological order of Julia Quinn’s novels.
However, as described above, it has been confirmed that the next third season will place Penelope and Colin squarely in the spotlight.
In a previous interview, Shonda Rhimes teased that the third season would deviate from the show’s original material.
“We’re not exactly going in order—but we’re going to see each of the siblings and their tales,” she told E! Entertainment.
