Swank’s work on the big screen throughout her career has earned her Oscars and Golden Globes for roles in films like Boys Don’t Cry and Million Dollar Baby, as well as high praise for performances in films like The Homesman, Logan Lucky, and Insomnia, Christopher Nolan’s 2002 thriller remake that, ironically, also took place in Alaska. Jeff Perry (Stanley Cornik)
Jeff Perry portrays Stanley Cornik, Eileen’s mentor, who offers her a new position and a fresh start at Alaska Daily.
Perry is no stranger to TV series, especially vintage ABC dramas like My So-Called Life and Grey’s Anatomy. He has dedicated much of his career to delighting viewers every week. Even a cursory look at Perry’s résumé will reveal scores of other episodes where Perry had more minor appearances, including Nash Bridges, Chicago Hope, Prison Break, Scandal, and many more.
Matt Malloy (Bob Young)
As Bob Young, a worker at the metro newspaper at the center of the show’s plot, seasoned film and television actor Matt Malloy joins the cast of Alaska Daily.
The West Wing, Law & Order, Star Trek: Enterprise, Malcolm in the Middle, and countless other programs have featured Malloy during his career, which dates back to the late 1980s. On television series like Alpha House, Six Feet Under, and Tanner ’88, to mention a few, he has also played more significant roles. His filmography is vital, including The United States of Leland, Jeff, Who Lives at Home, Armageddon, and In the Company of Man.
