Marvel fans can get their fourth-wall-breaking fix with She-Hulk for the time being, but they’re still waiting for Ryan Reynolds to reprise his role as the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool.
Since Deadpool 2 was released in 2018, a third movie is probably going to be released shortly. The film will be directed by Shawn Levy, however, with Disney’s recent acquisition of Fox, fans may not get what was originally envisioned for Deadpool 3.
Is There a Deadpool 3 Release Date?
Deadpool 3 has yet to receive a release date confirmation. Yet, Kevin Feige, Marvel’s head honcho, has confirmed that they do have a release window in mind.
Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, discussed the possible release date of Deadpool 3 with Collider in August 2021. He didn’t reveal when audiences may expect to see the finished product, but he did say that 2022 has a “70% probability” of being the year that filming begins.
Deadpool 3 has not yet begun filming, and there have been no other significant developments on the production process. That being said, the release date of the film is probably going to be pushed back much farther than some people currently anticipate.
Which Characters is Will Be Featuring in Deadpool 3?
Without the antihero of the title, Deadpool, there couldn’t be a Deadpool movie. Ryan Reynolds is hard at work on the screenplay for Deadpool 3, and he’s also returning to the role of Deadpool. Beyond that, though, it is unknown if any of the original cast members will be coming back for the sequel.
Morena Baccarin, who plays Deadpool’s girlfriend Vanessa, has lately stated that she has not been contacted about returning to the franchise. Since her character was revived at the end of Deadpool 2, she will probably appear in Deadpool 3.
Cable (Josh Brolin), Domino (Zazie Beetz), and any of the other surviving X-Force members could also make a comeback. Now that the universes have the potential to be properly integrated, the movie may include some new characters, specifically certain X-Men people.
Deadpool 3 Plot: What Will the Film Be About?
Reynolds claims that Deadpool 3 will see a radical departure for the character and the story. With “frequently they reboot or reinvent a character maybe like four movies too late,” the actor has hinted that the third film will “aim to go in a whole different path.”
With time travel playing such a significant role in Deadpool 2, the third picture may choose to focus even more heavily on this aspect, maybe using it to seamlessly introduce the character to the broader MCU.
Many Marvel insiders have reiterated the studio’s commitment to keeping Deadpool 3’s R rating unaltered despite the character’s recent relocation to the Disney Umbrella.
