It has been announced that Ant-Man 3, also known as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, will be the first film in Marvel Studios’ Phase 5; a trailer for the film, which was previously viewed only during Marvel’s massive Comic-Con 2022 panel, is now available online.
Ant-Man 3 has been delayed from its original July 2023 release date, but will now hit theatres in February 2023 instead, after switching release dates with The Marvels. With the new release date, Marvel clearly feels prepared to go to press with the film.
Evangeline Lilly is really optimistic about the third instalment. She exclaimed, “I was very psyched about the script [by Jeff Loveness].” I believe it has the potential to be our most successful project to date. To meet those lofty expectations, here is what we do know about Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
Ant-Man 3 Release Date
After some delays, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will finally hit theatres on February 17, 2023, as indicated above.
Lilly told Digital Spy that the filming, which took place from July to November of 2021, was the most challenging one yet because of all the constraints.
The filming was the most challenging of the films they’ve shot so far because of “circumstances and logistics and the status of the globe,” she said.

Ant-Man 3 Cast
In their roles as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/The Wasp, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly return. Michael Douglas, as Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer, as Janet van Dyne, are also set to return.
Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang is also making a comeback, but not in the role that Emma Fuhrmann played in Avengers: Endgame. Kathryn Newton, who starred in Big Little Lies and The Society, will play Cassie Lang in the third film.
Newton seemed to indicate that the MCU’s version of Cassie will have a future as a superhero, which is no surprise to readers of the comics, who know that Cassie becomes a superhero herself in the shape of Stature. “I’m going to do my best to be the best superhero of all time,” she joked.
After the news was confirmed in December 2020, Fuhrmann praised fans for their “warm words” and seemed unfazed by the fact that her Endgame part would be recast for the third Ant-Man film.
In addition to Newton, The Multiverse Saga will welcome Jonathan Majors, formerly rumoured to be playing Kang the Conqueror in September 2020 but now confirmed to play the villainous role. Majors starred in the Lovecraft Country TV series.
Ant-Man 3 Plot
After the presentation at Comic-Con, Marvel issued the first official synopsis for Ant-Man and the Wasp, titled Quantumania. Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne’s superhero team, Ant-Man and The Wasp is back for more action.
Along with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, they “find themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with weird new animals, and starting on a journey that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.”
In the comics, Kang rules over the city of Chronopolis, which was spotted in the Quantum Realm in the Ant-Man and the Wasp teaser, serving as an Easter egg for his appearance in the film.

As we’ve established, Cassie Lang appears to play a larger role in the threequel, and it’s possible that we’ll get a glimpse inside her transformation into Stature, one of the original members of the Young Avengers.
While we do know that Scott and Hope will reprise their roles as co-leads from the second film, beyond that, we don’t have a lot of information on what to expect from the third film. She plays a crucial role in their partnership, as Reed emphasised.
In addition, it was a great honour to be the first Marvel film to feature a female hero in the title, as far as I can tell. The fate of Ghost and the missing Pym Particles from the first film, as well as the results of the events in the second film, may be explained.
