This list is going to irritate some people. 99% of anime viewers watch anime for the same reason: to see strong people do things. This EXACT THING is the subject of the most popular anime IN THE WORLD. One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, and Dragon Ball Z are all anime that focus SOLELY on a character becoming increasingly influential as the series progresses.
Everyone has a favorite strong person and wants their favorite to defeat everyone else. They may discover, however, that their favorite Blorbo From My Shows did not cut. When we talk about the strongest anime characters, we will use a slightly different metric than we did for our list of overpowered anime characters.
An overpowered anime character may be the biggest fish in their small pond (for example, Spike from Cowboy Bebop), but once they venture out into the OCEAN OF POWER, they may find that there are bigger fish than they ever imagined. That’s who we’re here to discuss.
10. Mob – Mob Psycho 100
The last character on this list is a god among men, which only shows how powerful these characters are. Mob is a medium. The best in the world. With his mind, the boy can level cities.
He’s possibly one of the most powerful psychics in the media, not just in anime. I’m sure Professor X would instead not go toe-to-toe with this kid. He is only demoted because his body isn’t solid. He’s like a glass cannon—he can dish it out but not take it.
Kaido from One Piece
Kaido, on the other hand, is made entirely of steel. As well as dragon scales. He is, indeed, a dragon. This guy isn’t called the World’s Strongest Creature for nothing. He possesses a gum fruit, allowing him to transform into a massive dragon almost impervious to harm.
In a combined attack, he has resisted blows from the Worst Generation. That includes Luffy, Zoro, and at least three other superhumans. And the MAIN CHARACTER is Luffy. Kaido is a monstrous monster of epic proportions. Let’s see Where To Watch The Chainsaw Man.
Naruto’s Kaguya Otsutsuki
This woman, Kaguya Otsutsuki, was another foe who repelled the main character’s attacks. This is the point at which the list begins to resemble a PANTHEON OF ANIME GODS. Kaguya Otsutsuki is a small “g” god in the Naruto universe.
She is the one who created Charka by eating the fruit of the God Tree when the world was young. The ninja world would not exist without her. However, she was defeated by her horniness, as Naruto could use his sexy jutsu to distract her and land a blow.
Lucifer from Devilman Crybaby
Lucifer is where the power disparities on this list begin to get astronomical. Lucifer is an angel. You know, those unkillable beings of light and fire that capital “g” God sends to level cities and tell virgins they’re pregnant? Lucifer is one of the strongest angels in heaven, second only to Michael.
As such, he can wipe the floor with our poor Devilman hero Akira. One attack from Lucifer was able to split the Moon in half. Yikes.
Berserk by Griffith/Femto
Griffith is another mighty angel on this list, though only in name. He is one of Godhand’s five fingers and is virtually untouchable. Because he exists outside of physical reality, he cannot be killed by physical means. A battle with Griffith would occur in the astral world, and he would have the advantage of being at home.
I’m unsure how Guts will defeat him, but he won’t do it alone.
Akira – Tetsuo
So we’ve progressed from small “g” gods to at least medium “g” gods. Tetsuo isn’t the “God” of our universe in the traditional sense, but he does become the “God” of another universe of his creation. Tetsuo’s psychic ability becomes so out of control at the end of Akira that he collapses into a singularity, and then Big Bangs his way into an alternate universe.
Anyone else on this list should do the same. I’m only deducting points because he isn’t in control of his abilities, and thus anyone else on this list could beat him. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus
Beerus is the God of Destruction, the only being Goku cannot defeat. And the main character is GOKU. WHAT HAPPENS? Goku even went into Super Saiyan God mode to take on Beerus and STILL couldn’t beat him. Beerus defeated Goku quite easily. Sure, he was “impressed” while they were fighting, just as I would be if a cockroach I crushed under my shoe were still twitching.
Dragon Ball Super Whis –
This is a martial arts instructor and another all-powerful angel. This guy is so powerful that he is tasked with keeping Beerus safe from the God of Destruction. He’s Beerus’s assistant, and he helps prepare his meals and even puts him to bed.
This can knock out a rampaging Beerus with a single karate chop at one point. This becomes even more terrifying when you consider that Beerus is the being who brought Goku to his knees.
Zeno from Dragon Ball Z Super
Zeno is a God with a capital “g.” What exactly is it? Don’t you think he looks the part? He will delete you and the rest of your universe if you say that to him. Zeno may appear to be a tiny alien baby, but he is the most powerful being in the Dragon Ball universe.
On the other hand, Goku manages to befriend him, which is good because I shudder to think what would happen to Absolute Reality if this guy had enemies.
One Punch Man Saitama
One Punch Man is capable of defeating any opponent with a single punch. That is the show’s conceit. As a result, he is the most powerful character in the history of anime.

I don’t care if Zeno could “delete” him because Saitama could probably punch his way back into existence. He’s simply an unstoppable force. He can’t create life or other universes but can punch them out.
And aren’t destruction and entropy the most potent forces in the universe? If God said, “Let there be light,” Saitama would simply punch God out of existence and nap in the cool darkness of Unbeing. Let’s hope it never gets that far.
