Premise

Takafumi Takaoka, a young man in modern-day Japan, goes to pick up his uncle, who has just come out of a 17-year coma after being hit by a truck. My uncle does a spell and tells that he was transported to another planet. Takafumi lets his uncle move in with him, and the two of them, along with Takafumi’s childhood friend Sumika Fujimiya, spend their days assisting uncle in his transition to contemporary society while also observing his recollections of the other world.

Characters

Takafumi Takaoka

The nephew of Ysuke who took him in after seeing the potential in his uncle’s magic for financial gain, primarily through advertising on YouTube. But his uncle’s aromantic demeanour sometimes put him off from hearing about Ysuke’s voyage in the other world, especially when it comes to the girls he met along the way. He had no idea that Sumika has romantic feelings for him. His parents split up because of the strain of caring for his sick uncle, and he finds solace in Ysuke’s tales as a result of his difficult upbringing.

Sumika Fujimiya

One of Takafumi’s long-lost childhood friends with whom he has recently rejoined. Even though she has a crush on him, he has no idea. The instant she entered Takafumi’s apartment, she learned of Ysuke’s magical abilities, and ever since then, she has spent her days at his place, where she and Takafumi watch reruns of Ysuke’s exploits in the other world. Even though she remembers their youth together fondly, Sumika bullied Takafumi quite a bit. Sumika is shocked by this news, despite his apparent lack of resentment in the moment.

Tsundere Elf

An elf from another world that Ysuke helped. She had a crush on him after he saved her from a dragon, but he doesn’t understand her behaviour because the term “tsundere” didn’t become popular until four years after Ysuke slipped into a coma. Despite this, she is a good person, and Ysuke often benefits from her kindness when others try to smear him (which Ysuke sees as blackmail). They find out that she is the elven princess at the end.

Uncle From Another World

Mabel Laybelle

A mysterious woman with blue hair who wields the legendary Ice Sword and can put an end to the Flame Dragon. Mabel begins to doubt the sword’s usefulness when Ysuke kills the dragon without drawing it. After Ysuke pushes her to follow her heart, she drops out of school and becomes a NEET. Her clan, the Ice Clan, is revealed to be descended from a samurai from Japan who was taken to their world 400 years ago.

Alicia Edelsia

Young priestess at a gathering with Raiga and Edgar. Ysuke keeps bumping into her party and offering to help them out with their objectives. Due to a misunderstanding, she and her companions received the glory for vanquishing an orc army, but the real hero is Ysuke, who is now worshipped as a crusader hero.
