On September 9th, the second PV trailer for the anime was published, confirming the announcement.
On October 5, TOKYO MX will begin airing the first episode of the Human Crazy University anime series, followed by BS Fuji and Sun TV on October 6, and AT-X on October 18, 2022. Beginning October 5, 2022, you may also watch it on Amazon Prime Video.
In 2022, on May 1st, the protagonist Hirofumi Satake’s birthday, news of the TV anime was first revealed. The first trailer for The Human Crazy University was released in August 2022, introducing the show’s primary cast and announcing its October premiere.
This second PV trailer does a good job of introducing the show’s main characters and setting the stage for what’s to come. In addition, it names five new cast members, including:
- Hidenari Ugaki (Harumichi Bouya in Koukou Butouden Crows) as The Professor
- Yuuma Uchida (Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket) as Tadashi Shimada
- Souma Saitou (William James Moriarty in Moriarty the Patriot) as Jack
- Ryouta Suzuki (Yu Ishigami in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) as Takao Rukawa
- Hikaru Midorikawa (Sakamoto in Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto) as Chihaya Godai
It was also announced that Japanese New Yorker Nano will sing “Catastrophe” as the opening theme.
The Human Crazy University Main Cast And Staff
Tsukasa Nishiyama, of DLE Studio, is in charge of directing the show and creating the designs for the characters. Scripting for the show is handled by Naotoshi Nakajima. The soundtrack is composed by Kosuke Yamashita.
The previously announced main cast includes:
- Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki Sakata in Gintama) as Hirofumi Satake
- Takehito Koyasu (Zeke Jaeger in Attack on Titan) as Shigeo Ijuuin
- Hiroki Takahashi (Hisoka in Hunter x Hunter) as Shoji Kito
- Yui Ogura (Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi in The “Hentai” Prince and the Stony Cat.) as Chie Negishi

The Human Bug Daguku Yami no Manga is the inspiration for the manga The Human Crazy University (also known as The Human Bug University). Since March of 2019, the Human Bug Daguku Yami no Manga YouTube channel has been promoting the series with videos of the series (narration and dialogue included).
A panel at Crunchyroll Expo 2022 announced that the anime series The Human Crazy University would be simulcast on the platform.
