Author and artist Suu Minazuki created the manga series Plunderer. We follow Hina as she travels the world with the swordsman Licht Bach to fulfil her mother’s dying wish and find the mythical Ace. Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Ace magazine has been publishing the manga series since December 2014. The 24 episodes of the animated TV series based on the show, produced by Geek Toys, aired from January 9 to June 25, 2020. If there will be a second season of Plunderer, we’ll let you know here.
Plunderer Season 2 Release Date
The April 2018 issue of Monthly Shonen Ace, which was released on February 18, 2018, revealed that an anime adaptation of Plunderer would be produced. After some time, it was revealed that Hiroyuki Kanbe of Geek Toys would be directing the anime TV series; Masashi Suzuki would be supervising the scripts; Yuka Takashina, Yki Fukuchi, and Hiroki Fukuda would be designing the characters; and Junichi Matsumoto would be composing the score at Nippon Columbia.
To start, the show ran on Tokyo MX and KBS from January 9th to June 25th, 2020. It then moved to SUN, TVA, BS11, and AT-X. There are a total of 24 episodes in the series, and they can be found across four Blu-ray collections. On December 8th, 2019, in Tokyo, at EJ Anime Theater Shinjuku, the first episode was previewed with Yoshiki Nakajima, Rina Honnizumi, and Ari Ozawa in attendance.
Plunderer Season 2 Plot
We currently have no idea which chapters from the manga will be included in a prospective second-season adaptation. In particular, we have no idea how long the second season might go because of a general lack of knowledge. Because of this, we have no idea what will happen in the show’s probable second season. All we can say for sure is that it will feature further adventures for the show’s main characters. The plot synopsis for the show is provided below.
The story unfolds in a medieval setting where people’s daily lives are governed by numerical systems. A visible counter on each person’s body reveals their social rank, making it impossible to refuse orders from those higher on the social hierarchy. Every person’s counter can go up or down based on their unique set of behaviors.

However, if it falls to zero, phantom hands will appear out of the earth and pull you into the abyss. The story follows the naive Hina, whose mother was sucked into the void and who, before she died, urged her to track down the mythical Red Baron, the hero of the “Abolition War” that ended 305 years ago and built the kingdom.
She walks for five years and more than 40,000 kilometers to reach the city where he is expected to be. Her distance walked counter is reset after every 100 kilometers. Here she meets the shopkeeper, Nana, and the mysterious masked man, Licht Bach, who has a negative counter and begs her for food.
Plunderer Season 2 cast
Given that we have no idea if there will be a second season of Plunderer, it would be premature to talk about the cast or characters in that show at this time. However, given that the series’ cast is very well set in stone, we don’t anticipate major changes to the format of season two, whenever that may be. The following are the main characters from the first season that will probably return for the second:
- Licht Bach / Rihito Sakai. Japanese voice: Yoshiki Nakajima. …
- Hina Farrow. Japanese voice: Rina Honnizumi. …
- Nana Bassler. Japanese voice: Shizuka Itō …
- Jail Murdoch. Japanese voice: Yūichirō Umehara. …
- Lyne Mei. Japanese voice: Ari Ozawa. …
- Pele Poporo. Japanese voice: Aoi Ichikawa. …
- Mizuka Sonohara.

Final Words
As of right now, Plunderer’s future is totally up in the air. Since we currently know very little regarding a second season, it is still up in the air as to whether or not a third season will ever be made available to us. Good news for Plunderer fans: the show has been successful and there is plenty of source material to adapt, so it will likely return for a third season. Now, whether or whether it actually occurs is something else for which we must wait.
