Drifting Home Anime : What Anime Shows Does Netflix Have?

Drifting Home Release Date and Where You Can Watch It

The release date for “Drifting Home” on Netflix is set for September 16, 2022, roughly a week and a half before Labor Day, the unofficial end of beach season (at least for those of us on the East Coast). The movie’s premiere date is appropriate. As the year’s final lush, hot days pass, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the past few months, a seamless transition into heartfelt sentimentality for days gone by.

Studio Colorido began production in 2011, and this is their third full-length animated film after “Penguin Highway” (2018) and “A Whisker Away” (2020).

What is Drifting Home About?

Although the film’s fundamental premise has been made public, each new teaser for “Drifting Home” manages to keep an impressive number of narrative specifics under wraps. The first trailer debuted in September of 2021, an entire year before the movie was scheduled for release, and the second teaser has failed to clear anything up for us even now, several months later.

With each new nugget, though, the significance of looking back on one’s youth becomes more apparent. Kosuke and Natsume, best friends since they were little, are no longer close. The fact that the building they once shared was deserted by its former occupants several years ago is mostly to blame for this.

Now that the building is scheduled for condemnation and demolition, the pair has returned one last time to investigate and look for ghosts with their pals before the opportunity is lost forever. But while the youngsters are out urban spelunking, an unexpected event takes place.

After being knocked out by an unexplained occurrence, the gang returns to find that their apartment building has been carried by the tides out to sea. The plot of the modern and original “Drifting Home” centers on the gang’s desperate attempts at survival and reunion with their loved ones.

Drifting Home cast

Director Hiroyasu Ishida, who previously helmed the studio’s animated feature “Penguin Highway,” is back at the wheel for “Drifting Home.” Japanese screenwriter Hayashi Mori is working with Ishida on the project.

Mutsumi Tamura, Asami Seto, Daiki Yamashita, Yumiko Kobayashi, Inori Minase, and Kana Hanazawa have all been announced as voice actors for the motley crew of Japanese orphans.

Drifting Home Trailer And Synopsis

Details about the plot of “Drifting Home” may be kept secret until the film’s September release on Netflix. However, for the time being, please take pleasure in the brand new trailer for the film’s upcoming release by observing its appealing animation style and fantasy notion.
