Kodansha revealed on Wednesday that the television anime adaptation of Sai Sumimori’s Am I Actually the Strongest? (Jitsu wa Ore, Saiky deshita?) novel series will air in 2023. Kodansha has released a teaser image for the anime, but no more details have been disclosed.
Manga artist Ai Takahashi has adapted the novels into a digital series that is being published in English by Kodansha Comics.
It’s one thing to be reborn as a baby in a different universe with the promise of a “cheat” power; it’s quite another to be abandoned by your royal parents because they mistakenly believe you to be helpless.
No, that’s a whole different issue! Now the newborn Reinhart, or Hart as he is known to his new friends, must navigate a frightening world… yet he is equipped with magic that is off the charts!
In September 2018, Sumimori began serialising the narrative on the website Shsetsuka ni Nar, where it is still being updated regularly. Kodansha released the first print novel volume in May 2019, illustrated by Ai Takahashi, and the fifth print novel volume in October 2021.
