The announcement of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet earlier this year marked the franchise’s first entry into the ninth generation. There’s a new territory to discover, different Pokémon to catch, and a new selection of “starters.” Even though we haven’t seen the whole game yet, the first trailer gave us a lot of information. We were treated to some enticing footage of the game’s core characters and combat mechanics, as well as some beautiful images of Palden.
Pokemon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet’s announcement trailer included a large number of Pokémon, both old and new, from the Pokémon Company’s upcoming games. At the end of the presentation, the three starters made an appearance, along with several older generation favourites. There appears to be a healthy balance between new and classic Pokémon. We’ll have to rely on trailers for now to get a sense of what’s in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Pokédex until the whole list is confirmed.

This article will be updated as new trailers are presented and new information is made available. We can only hope that as the release date draws nearer, we’ll get a clearer picture of what Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet’s complete Pokédex will look like. For the time being, however, we have combed through the initial reveal video and all subsequent disclosures to compile a list of all verified Pokémon.
